The LIP group has been member of CMS since 1992. The group consisted of five members signing the Letter of Intent, and since then has grown to the level of about 20 members. The LIP group has been active in many areas of CMS. In particular the group was responsible for the design and construction of the ECAL data-acquisition system and took a leading role in the design and commissioning of the L1 Trigger system. Since 2014, the LIP group has main responsibilities in the new CT-PPS forward proton spectrometer. The physics interests of the group span a large spectrum, including Higgs, top, B, SUSY and other BSM physics, as well as quarkonia production in heavy-ion collisions.
