Universidad de los Andes

The Uniandes-CMS group contributes to the operation of the the RPC detectors of the muon system; students and physicists have led different studies to optimise the performance of these detectors and also contribute to their maintenance and data certification. The group’s engineers have been contributing to CMS Grid computing and different stages of data operations. The PhD students, postdocs and professors from the group have been involved in data analysis, mainly in SUSY and Exotica searches. At the moment the group focuses on SUSY searches with vector-boson-fusion topologies or boost topologies by initial-state radiation. Since 2015 the group has collaborated with the muon GEM project where they have been involved in setting up its data acquisition. They have been also contributed to the Technical Design Report for the RPC detectors for CMS Phase-2 Upgrade.
