Boğaziçi University, Istanbul

The Boğaziçi University Group joined CMS in March 2000. It is one of the four CMS umbrella university groups in Turkey. Currently, it also includes members from Istanbul, Istanbul Bilgi, Kafkas, Marmara, Mimar Sinan and Yildiz Teknik Universities. Overall, the group has five faculty members and six graduate students.

Together with the other Turkish groups, they have been involved in the HCAL construction and operations since the beginning, having coordinated the construction project for manufacturing the HF strongbacks, ferrule plates and associated parts in Turkey. The group has also worked on the HF front-end electronics card assembly project in Istanbul as part of the Phase-1 Upgrade. They joined the HGCAL collaboration for the Phase-2 upgrade. The group has been involved in analyses of B-physics, Jet-MET studies and di-jet production cross-section measurements.

In October 1992, a ‘Letter of Intent’ was submitted to the LHC Experiments Committee (LHCC), offically marking the formation of the CMS Collaboration. This website commemorates the 25th anniversary of CMS, celebrated in 2017.
