INFN Sezione di Torino

The Torino group joined CMS in 1997, and contributed in these 20 years in several detectors and analysis. In particular the group took a leading role in the construction and commissioning of the Drift Tubes, in the assembly of the Tracker modules and in the read-out electronics of the ECAL.

The Torino group is involved since the beginning of the data taking in several physics analyses and in reconstruction software DPG activities. Researchers of the institute are actively involved in various LHC data analyses, among them the study of the Higgs boson and the electroweak interactions, and has been one of the leading analysis groups in the Higgs discovery process.

More recently, the Torino institute has driven the design and assembly of the CMS-TOTEM Precision Proton Spectrometer in the very forward region on both sides of CMS. At present the group is actively participating in the Upgrade programme, giving important contributions in the DT, Pixel Tracker and new ECAL electronics.
