Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITAINNOVA)

Although ITAINNOVA officially became an associate member of CMS in 2012, the group has been collaborating with CMS since 2008. The ITAINNOVA group has mainly contributed to upgrade activities of CMS. The group was initially involved in the first discussions of the new designs of the Tracker upgrade for the high-luminosity phase, where ITAINNOVA performed a risk assessment of noise issues for new powering schemes and conducted a CMS project focused on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) for the future generation of the Tracker.

Since 2014, ITAINNOVA activities have turned to the Phase-2 Pixel Upgrade of CMS. These activities are focused on the design of the low-mass and low-noise power-distribution system for the read-out electronics. In particular, the group is involved in the development of simulations and prototypes for the power-distribution system that will help to evaluate the performance, in terms of power and EMC, of the Phase-2 Pixel Upgrades’s power system. The group also collaborates with other projects focused on detector developments.
