Panjab University

The CMS group at Panjab University, Chandigarh, India, consists of four professors, 12 PhD students, four technicians, and support staff. Thirteen students completed their PhDs between 2005 and 2016. The group actively participates in detector fabrication, physics analysis and service work for CMS. The group has contributed to the CMS upgrade and will participate in for the Phase-1 and Phase-2 Upgrades with major responsibilities in GEM and Tracker sub-detectors.

In October 1992, a ‘Letter of Intent’ was submitted to the LHC Experiments Committee (LHCC), offically marking the formation of the CMS Collaboration. This website commemorates the 25th anniversary of CMS, celebrated in 2017.
